With a first-person perspective, the audience experiences the immersive, disorienting experience of a young boy living with Hereditary Retinal Dystrophy.
Celui Qui Ne Voyait Pas Les Etoiles, which translates to The Boy Who Did Not See The Stars, is a meditative journey into a young boy’s struggle with a rare disease that slowly took away his eyesight. Using muted colors and a restricted palette, the images slowly lose their sharpness as the symptoms progress, creating a riveting and intense PSA for this rare disease.
The film was directed by Jack-Antoine Charlot and John Jones, who also worked on storyboard and illustration. Passion Paris produced the piece, lending their heavy animation skills to the film.
