With anticipation building for the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games Milano Cortina 2026 and the Super Bowl, Starbucks and Anomaly have brewed up a peppy campaign based on the convivial concept of the coffee run.
Directed by Julian & Quentin, the nostalgic film follows a man on a sweeping journey through a snowy mountain town, zipping through streets on a scooter, greeting locals and dropping off cups of Joe to members of Winter Games community and Team USA winter athletes, including Elana Meyers Taylor, Amber Glenn, Oksana Masters and Aaron Pike.
Conjuring a nostalgic, highly crafted feel, the film was put through a 'film out' process, transferring the 90-second footage to physical film and back introduced texture, grain and imperfection that couldn’t be replicated digitally, giving the work a timeless analog Italian cinema vibe. This is further enhanced by the jaunty retro music choice, South American Getaway by Burt Bacharach.
The ad will debut during the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 opening ceremonies on Friday 6 Feb, with additional placements before and after the Big Game. It will also run on Feb. 8 during the pre-and post-post Super Bowl game.
