Directed by Sacarias Kiusalaas, Where the Revelations Happen is an offbeat piece full of spills, stains, and trash flung out of windows.
In this surreal and strange ad, TBWA Stockholm imagines what would happen if everyone lived in a world that showed food waste as it was happening, rather than behind closed doors and in our kitchens. The result is a beautifully captivating spot where people go about their daily lives spaghetti flies through the air, coffee gets poured onto tables rather than into mugs, and people pour out their soft drinks after only one sip.
The meaning is clear and while Motatos doesn’t feature heavily, they don’t need to be center stage to fully capture the viewer’s attention. The juxtaposition of all the food waste and everyone’s passive acceptance of tomato sauce being poured onto their head after a blowout was enough to keep me going.
