Among the many ways humans contrive to mess up the planet, creating vast quantities of textile waste is a major contributing factor in environmental pollution. The manufacture of clothing also produces harmful carbon emissions.
Better to buy fewer togs and keep them in good nick with the right stain removal products. Created by Havas and directed by Samuel Bennetts through Unit 9 this TV ad, Vanishing Point, highlights a shocking statistic; that many of us wear our clothes as little as ten times before we throw them away – contributing to the more than 90 million tonnes of clothing waste that goes to landfill every year.
Depicting a disturbing dystopian world choked by ‘clothes mountains’, the spot is part of the laundry brand’s 'Clothes Live Longer with Vanish' campaign and follows its partnership earlier this year with the British Fashion Council to launch the sustainability-focused documentary series – Generation Rewear.
