In this intriguing, narrative-led short film, writer and director Johan Kramer depicts the fascinating story of the ferocious female football team behind Amsterdam-Noord-based independent cinema FC Hyena's bizarre name.
Although the film appears at first to be constructed from authentic archival footage, Kramer in fact used AI to breathe new life into the 100-year-old story, drawing on thorough historical research and support from production company Holy Fools' new unit, Holy Tools.
Producer Frank de Kok added: “In our profession, we often talk about technology and budget, but we rarely discuss expanding our possibilities for creating original stories. This project proves that you can also tell new stories in a very creative and unique way.”
