This colourful and lively campaign, created by Leo Burnett and Rogue Films director Sam Brown for fast food giant McDonalds, celebrates four decades of the brand’s infamous chicken nuggets.

Combining fantastically timed choreography and touches of manga-inspired animation, the spot, titled #McNuggetWorthy? sees two girls greeting each other with an epic secret handshake. From their lockets containing pictures of each other to their matching rings, it’s clear they’re besties for life.

However, when the frivolities are over and one girl reaches to grab the others’ McNuggets, it’s clear how even the best of friends can be reluctant to share their favourite battered chicken treats. The film ends with the question: “They might be your bestie, but are they #McNuggetWorthy?”

The campaign, which is targeted at a Gen-Z audience, will be prominent on social media channels including TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter, and will see influencers producing exclusive content to get people talking about how #McNuggetWorthy their friends are.
