British train operator Great Western Rail has extended its delightful Famous-Five-themed series with another charmingly nostalgic film, created by adam&eveDDB and directed by Guy Manwaring through Merman.
Five Get There First seamlessly blends 3d, 2d and hand-crafted animation by Not To Scale, to follow Uncle Quentin and Aunt Fanny as they race to the beach via car against the children, who climb on board a train.
Pretty soon their car ride becomes a journey from hell, in contrast to the children who play cards and drink tea against a backdrop of idyllic countryside and famous landmarks along the GWR coastline.
Quentin and Fanny finally arrive at the beach, late and dishevelled from their disastrous drive, and in an endearing closing scene confess it might be time to start travelling by train.
