Tostan, the global NGO dedicated to empowering communities through human rights–based education, has launched this powerful short film about ending child marriage through communication rather than force.
Thoughtfully written and directed by Kes-Tchaas Eccleston and Xavier Damase through Couro, the 80-second documentary-style film, titled Dignity For All, was shot in Keur Simbara, Senegal, and features the village's own residents.
The directors handle a difficult subject with sensitivity and purpose, using candid, observational footage and a raw narration to specifically highlight the positive impact of meaningful dialogue with communities.
