Developed by ROTHCO, part of Accenture Interaction, Freedom of the City showcases the hard work of one man who has strived to bring the power of transit to everyone in Dublin.
The documentary-style film interviews the people whom Roger, an employee who works on the Travel Assistance Scheme for Dublin Bus, has helped over the course of a decade. At the end of the spot, Roger is honored with the Lord Mayor of Dublin award as people cheer. To many people in the city, Roger “has opened up the world.”
Showing compassion, gratitude, and most of all, showcasing the abilities of those who many consider disabled, the short film explores the impact of a single person. The film speaks to the ways in which many people rely on the bus, and each other, to get around. The video is full of heart and doesn’t talk down to the abled audience or disabled members of the community.
