You might have thought that an Uber advert starring Robert De Niro would kinda write itself, given the actor's iconic Taxi Driver performance, but this latest offering from Mother skews closer to the heartwarming than the "you talkin' to me" quoting predictable path.
Starring De Niro as everyone's imagination of what De Niro is - bit grumpy, no-nonsense, does the shrug face - Best Friends sees an unlikely team-up with Sex Education star Asa Butterworth as the pair enjoy the (very on-brand) shared passion for eating food and going places.
With both Scorsese protegees giving delightfully dry comedic performances, and O Positive director David Shane giving plenty of opportunities for hilariously stilted encounters, this genuinely charming spot is a Bickle bit special.
