Isolation has become a buzzword in the Covid-19 era, yet many face endless stretches of solitary confinement regardless of social distancing restrictions.
Created by Brussels’ agency Air and directed by Lieven Van Baelen through CZAR Brussels, this well executed spot highlighting AG’s sponsorship of the support group AllenTegenEenzaamheid.be sheds light on the fact that 46 percent of Belgians suffer from debilitating loneliness, which negatively affects both mental and physical health.
It’s an elegant meditation on solitude, showing how time hangs heavy for those whose lives are measured out by hours gazing out the window; waiting for coffee to drip through a filter or watching the sadness of a single egg on the boil.
The film was made in quarantine using remote comms with a total production team of 40, including actors who were filmed in their actual homes with minimal teams on set.
