Balls replace bullets in this oddball campaign for Abierto GNP Seguros, a professional women's tennis tournament that's part of the WTA Tour.
Shot in the style of a Spaghetti Western, the spot, created by Monterrey-based agency MajadmA and directed by Willian Kaner through KIDS, features tennis stars Angelique Kerber and Feliciano Lopez and is peppered with classic Mexican cultural references, from Frida Kahlo standing on her balcony and smelling a tennis ball like a freshly-plucked orange, to the fruit cart that's ubiquitous on Mexican streets, and a lavish quinceañera (the Mexican version of a ‘sweet sixteen’ party, which traditionally takes place on a girl's 15th birthday). Strange, but fun.
