Cats. They make you work damn hard in return for a crumb of affection - and most of the time, your valiant efforts in feeding, watering and grooming them go completely unrewarded.
But when they do finally deign to acknowledge your existence... well, it's a wonderful feeling.
Almost as good as the taste of Onken yoghurt, in fact, if this new brand campaign - created by AllTogetherNow and helmed by MindsEye's Brad Lubin - is anything to go by.
In the oddball spot, titled Feed Your Inner Happiness, cat owner Alan is enjoying a pot of yoghurt on the sofa when his fluffy Persian pet finally decides to show him some appreciation.
