The soft susurration of undies falling from a dryer; the click-clack of a lucky cat figure’s waving arm; hamster aerobics; these and other fine details capture the calm and quiet of non-happenings in three residences.
Created by French agency Marcel, and directed by Laura Sicouri, through Division, these three films for Orange Home Protection service each boast elegant cinematography, set design and subtle soundscapes in their depiction of nothing occurring.
Capturing the serenity of interiors bereft of human activity while the owners, Lisa, Pierre et Mia, and Serge et Jeanne are absent or asleep, the campaign cleverly aligns the fact that the service both costs ‘not much’ to install, while also ensuring ‘not much’ happens in one’s home thanks to the alarms and remote surveillance it offers.
Fun figurine fact: those waving arm cat creatures are often thought to be Chinese but are Japanese in origin. Named maneki-neko they are thought to bring good luck to their owners.
