This emotional video features young children staring defiantly at the camera, daring you to ignore them.
With children clearly in distress, in horrible situations, judging the aftermath of abuse, this film is not for the faint of heart. There’s a constant stream of accusation, of demands, and although it’s only one narrator, each child shown embodies the voice, speaking for every one of their generation. The beat is unrelenting, the children in turns devastatingly sad and defiant. The Guardian of my Dreams is a film that demands better, not just of parents, but of all of us.
Alexandre Lucain directed, and did a fantastic job guiding the performances of so many children. Launched on Morocco’s national day of the child, the piece for UNICEF was helmed by agency 109 and produced by Sigma Technologies.
