Scouts have followed up their successful #SkillsForLife film, which launched the charity’s rebrand in 2018, with a new promo that focuses on the moments before and after a parent drops off their child at Scouts.

The film, which was created in-house and directed by Laura Scrivano of 3angrymen Productions, is part of a broader media, social and press campaign to encourage more parents to volunteer with Scouts. With the waiting list of young people wanting to join Scouts at an all time high (60,000) the organisation urgently needs 15,000 more adults to volunteer.

“The concept really hooked me in from the moment I read the creative” said Scrivano. “I loved the humour, warmth and family dynamics. To make the most of the relatable intimacy, I wanted an experienced drama DP to shoot it for me, so I was absolutely thrilled that Kate [Reid, DP] came on board. We totally embraced the confines of the car, the close up, as well as the movement, repetition and rhythm associated with the familiar routine of pick up and drop off. This is absolutely a film for parents, watching your child grow is such a joyous, tiring and emotional experience.”
