There's a reason that wheelchair rugby, one of the Paralympics most vibrant sports, has the nickname Murderball; its intensity and brutality can be shocking.
In this Mad Max-esque promo for global ‘mobility partner’ of the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, Toyota, burly athlete Ryley Batt demonstrates his passion on the pitch through a series of impactful encounters and smashing attacks.
Entitled Breaking Point, the Saatchi & Saatchi Australia campaign's message comes over clearly, with Good Oil’s Adam Gunser bringing the octane to screen through interesting lighting and some snazzy camera techniques.
“It’s incredible to witness what these athletes go through in a game; how hard they play and push themselves, and the force they inflict on their equipment," comments Mike Spirkovski, Saatchi & Saatchi Australia Chief Creative Officer. "Their wheelchairs take an absolute battering, which our director Adam Gunser has brought to life in a very real and powerful visual story.
"It proves just how unstoppable these athletes really are.”
