'Home is where the bugs aren't' runs the tagline to Orkin's latest campaign - and it's the total absence of nasty little critters on-screen that makes the campaign feel so fresh.
Rather than depicting people taking down termites and razing roaches to the ground with Orkin's products, the team at The Richards Group have turned the traditional pest control marketing approach on its head in a series of vignettes showing scenes of pure domestic contentment.
Nothing much really happens in the films, which is sort of the point. In one, a girl reads her book on the porch; in another, a man eats some cereal for breakfast. Then, right at the end, a line of text appears on screen, revealing the pestilent problem scenario that the protagonists have avoided, all thanks to Orkin.
