Heroics and the antics in GTA V don't normally go hand-in-hand; the hard-nosed criminal protagonists of the base game more interested in heists than helping.
However, for International Women’s Day, Swedish anti-sex trafficking organization Talita, along with pro-bono agency Åkestam Holst, have created an alternative GTA experience named Mission Talita.
Flipping the script somewhat on the game's traditional narrative, the mod uses the software engine and mission structure to create an entirely new purpose for games - save the prostitutes of Los Santos.

Developed by the GTA enthusiast FelixTheBlackCat, with support from Vxruz_Danz, the mod not only replicates core gameplay elements from GTA V to guarantee an authentic gaming experience but also includes a custom-made in-game radio station, Radio Talita, which includes music from Swedish House Mafia feat. Sting, Salvatore Ganacci, and several other artists. By tuning in, players can enjoy a curated stream of in-game music and facts about Talita’s work.
What's more, the missions themselves are based on true stories about Carmen, Bianca, Emmy, and Anastasija; women that Talita has saved from prostitution and sex trafficking between 2017 and 2023.
Cleverly using an IP that has been synonymous with violence and dubious sexual politics for years to promote its message, this smart campaign, promoted with a neat machinima film, certainly hits the target.
