When a young woman orders “just a latte” from a busy, trendy cafe, she’s left wondering...what did she actually pay for?
In this comedic spot out of Leo Burnett that pokes fun at hipster cafes and faddish bistros, McDonald’s emphasizes that some of the extras added onto the coffee joint - ball pits, swinging chairs, and DJ - might not be what you need in the morning. The woman orders a simple drink and walks away with a five-pound bill, confused.
Directed by Tony Barry and full of fun production details and excellent comedic expressions from the baristas, who are definitely in on a joke we don’t get, Ball Pit is a reactive eye-roll to put-upon bistros that strive for attention-grabbing features over food service.
