It's been a while since we've seen a kooky snack-food mascot unleashed on our screens, but ENGINE Creative has started 2021 armed with an enjoyably bizarre newbie for McCoy's - The Beast.

Brought to life by Blinkink’s Joseph Mann, the series of funny spots [more to be released] are set in everyday scenarios in which a person snacking on some disappointing very plain crisps... until a furry long-armed Beast (think Mr Tickle with hirsutism) hunts down flavour with its investigative digits.

"Some scripts are literally a dream come true," says Mann. "To keep these films feeling as rooted in the real world as possible everything was shot in camera with very little post-production. Each long hairy flavour grabbing puppet was brought to life as a physical puppet measuring over 3m in length! Bicycle brake cables were used to give each hand its characterful articulated movements."

Genuinely chucklesome and enjoyably not outstaying its welcome, this handy hero is just the flavour craver we need.
