The deliciously witty and refreshing campaign out of Lola Mullen Lowe, produced by Poppa in Madrid, delivers a welcome message rarely conveyed in advertising – that oldsters can rock too.

Imagining the film’s script – ‘a man’s eye is caught by a foxy lady alluringly sucking on a Magnum while riding a stairlift,’– and one realises what a remarkable feat the spot pulls off in getting ‘saucy’ and ‘stairlift’ in the same scene.

Set in a lavish mansion with lush grounds, The Pleasure Residence, has many sumptuous design flourishes (shout out to production designer Peter Grant and art director Pedro Santarem) – gilded wheelchairs, cool looking croquet games, flower-packed salons.

Ending with the tagline, 'get old or get classic', the film proves beyond doubt that grey can be gorgeous and the whole is given extra class by the slinky vocals of Tony Bennett’s 1963 recording of The Good Life.

Top oldster pop fact: the song was originally a 1962 French ditty, La Belle Vie, and was written by the late great singer Sacha Distel.
