Gymshark’s campaign video, directed by Jess Kohl and produced by PRETTYBIRD, is an inspiring ode to boxer, Ryan Garcia, as he returns after taking time out from the ring to focus on his mental health.
Voiced by his father, it follows the story of Garcia’s childhood and the crew spent a day shooting at High Desert Boxing Club in Victorville, California, where Garcia grew up. Kohl commented that, “seeing his roots felt really important in getting under the skin of the story.”
Coming from humble beginnings, training in his garage with his father and uncle, the film also highlights the impact of representation and the importance of role models in this story of family, conditioning and ambition.
