SAGE Foundation has launched a new campaign, directed by Yassa Khan, to raise awareness of child marriage in Africa, the hidden 'epidemic' robbing girls of their futures.
Filmed in Lagos, the poignant film features young girls affected by the traumatic and widespread problem. These brides, each of whom became mothers before they turned 18, all long to continue their education.
The team worked with Bella Foundation for Child and Maternal Care, to ensure they could go back to their education, but millions of young girls like them will not be afforded this same opportunity.
The film is moving and informative in its visuals and message, striking the right balance to showcase the real impact and ways in which people can help.
One of the most effective ways to prevent child marriage is to keep girls in school, to allow them to reach their potential, and to show their societies and communities just what remarkable things they are capable of, they are not Just a Girl.
