Little Simz, big vision

Evocative and grand, the scope of Introvert is as big as the buildings where it’s performed. 

Little Simz is angry. She’s also tired. Without compromising any of her ideas, artistry, or experiences, this sweeping film takes on different aspects of identity and awakening and makes them symbols. As director Solamon Lightelm gives Simz space to be mythic, he cuts across to archival news footage and historical paintings, giving her a sense of energy, desperation, and adrenaline. 

Frantic and evocative, Introvert is the lead track off Little Simz’ new album. While Lightelm has an established relationship with Simz, first working with her on the Top Boy Promo in 2019, this is her first video produced by Prettybird. Introvert was shot on a mix of formats but predominantly Super 16mm and 4-perf 35mm Film.
