The proliferation of pocket-sized high-quality cameras and filmmaking software means that the only hurdle for future auteurs is musting up the enthusiasm for shooting.
Thankfully, eagerness can be found aplenty in the utterly charming and infectiously lively Fans Make The Movies for Netflix.
Turning the camera on, and over to, family group The Ikorodu Bois from Lagos, Nigeria, the engaging spot captures the joy and ingenuity of 'giving it a go'.
What brings the heart to the campaign is the Bois themselves, spotted by Netflix after remaking the trailer for Extraction in June 2020. With Wondros Collective's Stephan Malik on hand to capture the magic, the spotlight is rightly shone on the Max Fischer-esque shenanigans, with witty homages and clever homemade solutions bringing a sense of true joy to proceedings.
