Apple are always keen to shove their devices into the hands of filmmaking talent [as this feature of ours attests], but few have achieved such a splendid colour-pallet as Frenzy director Frank Ychou with his film La Chaussette.
Shot on an iPhone 11 Pro and dealing with the sneaky dying wish [pun intended] of the titular sock, Ychou's film summons complimentary comparisons with Amelie and Wes Anderson, utilising the impressive capture quality of the device to accentuate the gloriously vibrant art direction.
Achieving cinematic techniques such as contrazoom and racked focus, as well as showcasing the wide-angle capabilities of the lenses, this short pretty much masters Apple's clever technique of melding tech demos with genuine artistic endeavours.
