This new campaign, called Our Stories, is a bold and epic collaboration between the UK's four terrestrial broadcasters and creative studio Uncommon London which celebrates UK television and the role it plays in our lives.
The two-minute film is directed, via Pulse Films, by Sam Walker, who is also Uncommon's ECD, and demonstrates the power of UK television and its digital services to bring people together during this recent period of uncertainty.
The cinematic spot takes us on a road trip across the UK as we journey through farmers’ fields, Cornish coastlines, factory floors and London estates to Antony Gormley's Angel of the North as well as the Royal Academy gallery. In each shot TV screens and tablets to appear showing scenes from well-known shows that mirror the poetic voiceover.
“British TV reflects and shapes our culture and who we are," Nils Leonard, Co-founder at Uncommon Creative Studio, said. "Our debates, our conversations, our communities and our characters are all reflected in the stories we watch every day. These are our stories. British TV matters – now more than ever. This cultural moment is the kind of brief we built the studio to make. We’re very proud to bring this moment to bear for our collective broadcasters.”
