This beautifully shot campaign, developed by supermarket Kaufland’s in-house agency and directed by Thomas Garberand through Tony Petersen Film, tells a moving story of two neighbouring families; one poor, the other rich.
When their children start to form a friendship, the parents of the wealthy family are determined to keep them apart. The mother scolds her daughter for talking to the boy from next door and the father puts up a barrier between the houses, but this doesn’t stop them from exchanging letters and playing games through a gap in the fence.
However, when the father realises he's causing his daughter more harm than good, he puts his prejudices aside to pull down the fence. The families share a spontaneous Christmas dinner and realise they have more in common than they once thought. The campaign highlights the brand's message of the importance of caring for one another this holiday season.
