Midwest emo pioneers American Football have unveiled this gorgeously shot and contemplative promo for their track Bad Moons, directed by Alex Acy & Rémi Belleville through Object & Animal.
Blending striking, infrared black-and-white and cinematic full colour shots, the film depicts a group of teenagers as they grapple with friendships and fallouts, playful pranks and emotional vulnerability. Rather than leaning into one clear narrative, the loosely connected vignettes evoke a broader feeling of adolescent memory and an honest portrayal of modern youth.
Humour and deep internet lore appear throughout, including a cinematic reimagining of the infamous “Burger King Foot Lettuce” meme, reinforcing the film’s exploration of shared cultural memory and teenage absurdity.
