We're used to Santa's mini helpers hogging the limelight when it comes to holiday hustle, but in ASDA's Christmas spot, it's the humble garden gnome that gets the job done.
Created by Havas London, The Gnome of Christmas features Asda colleagues Maggie and Bill, who, stranded in a snowstorm, call upon a quirky team of gnomes to magically transform their store into a Christmas wonderland, all the while throwing in so many gnome-based puns it would make a cracker groan.
Directed by Hungry Man's ever-creative Bryan Buckley, the real stars of the show are RASCAL's brilliantly realised pottery protagonists (including named characters drag artist and fashionista Gnicky, gourmet chef Gnibbles, cool as a cucumber surfer Gnarla, perfectionist party-planner Gnorma, and... er... Max), proving that is you want some serious festive charm, there's no place like gnome.
