Titled In Bloom, this elegant short film, made in collaboration with French ballet shoe company Repetto, explores Gerber's blossoming into an expressive dancer.
Shot on 16mm film, it was directed by Neels Castillon, through Les Fils De, and draws inspiration from the expressive language of choreographer Pina Bausch, who saw the body as a 'voice' and movement as narrative.
Gerber portrays a figure in constant metamorphosis. Her restrained movements gradually unfold into a release, culminating in a bloomin' beautiful emergence.
Developed over several months, the film was initiated by Gerber, who, under the direction of choreographer Fanny Sage, undertook an intensive dance training journey across Paris, New York, and London.
Fun celeb fact: Gerber is the daughter of model Cindy Crawford and business entrepreneur Rande Gerber, who founded the tequila brand Casamigos with George Clooney.
