There's no denying that everyday concerns can be all-consuming, and that life throws up enough issues for us to worry about, but, as this impactful new spot for E.ON goes to show, we can't ignore the climate crisis forever.

The concept, from creative collective House 337, takes a simple representation of ignorance to an extraordinary level: the distracted protagonists of It's Time serenading the audience with the Irma Thomas song Time Is On My Side, all the whilst surrounded by impending doom.

The film's blockbuster visuals, shot by FAMILIA's Hans Emanuel, are made all-the-more impressive by the team's commitment to sustainability: solar-powered studios, a responsibly sourced wardrobe, virtual backdrops and virtual video villages reducing the need for travel; all cutting emissions and budgets in the process.

“It’s incredibly important that we all act on the climate crisis, but we didn’t want to use the same old shock tactics," comments Ross Newton, Creative Director, House 337. "Instead, we wanted to highlight the behaviour that we’re all guilty of. We hope that on seeing the ad, viewers will feel a sense of frustration that the people in each scenario aren’t reacting to the devastation surrounding them, and feel empathy towards them as they recognise that behaviour in themselves, and consider what steps we can all take to become part of the solution.”

"Bringing EON's impactful vision to life was an epic journey of innovation and resilience," adds Toby Walsham, Managing Director at FAMILIA. "It was a true test of our ability to weave the core principles of sustainability into a project with high visual impact. Every frame told a powerful story - from flooded villages to forests in flames - all crafted through cutting-edge techniques like Lidar scanning, proving that sustainability and storytelling can coexist in harmony.

"Hans' talent in directing was instrumental to the project's success - his dedication to the cause was truly inspiring. My heartfelt gratitude goes to our partners at House337 and EON for trusting us with this momentous endeavour. The result is a testament to what we can achieve when we dare to reimagine and challenge the norms of film production."
