Kicking the trend of highly polished sports gaming ads, EA Sports has released an energetic campaign that captures the highs, lows, tension and passion of match day to promote the video game FIFA 23

Matchday, directed by Jungle through Blink, features footy fanatics uniting in universal match day rituals. Some of the sport’s biggest stars can be spotted in the film, including Kylian Mbappe, Sam Kerr, Zinedine Zidane, Vinicius Junior, Virgil Van Dijk, Jack Grealish and Chloe Kelly. 

As keen football fans themselves, directing duo Jungle took inspiration from the build up to a real football match, referencing every detail from the knock-off football shirts to the crowded, sweaty bus that rattles through the city centre towards the stadium.

“We set out to depict that energy with a simple idea—the world’s game gets its match day— in celebration of an especially stacked FIFA 23 that will bring fans two World Cups, HyperMotion2, and women’s club football for the first time ever.”
