If you've never seen DAVE, rapper and comedian Dave Burd (aka Lil Dicky)’s TV show, this trailer for the second season isn't likely to give you any clues as to its actual content.
What it does, however, is create a spectacular 60 seconds of filmic madness, kicked off by the titular troublemaker attempting to cross a busy avenue while holding his Anteater... until they get hit by a truck.
Filled with comedic (and saucy) moments from director/DP Paul Tolton, the ad's real star is the incredible photo-real anteater, brought to life, as described by MPC’s Animation Lead, Seong Joon Lee, by "[trying] to incorporate a human acting element into the anteater that expresses its unique natural features. The key was to determine the appropriate level of expression needed for each shot. In addition, we used dynamic simulation techniques to capture more accurate physical movements generated by DAVE's actions, especially in cross-street shots."
Hilarious and action-packed, this trailer's eye-catching production is sure to stop traffic.
