In a perfect world, Academy Award-winner Kevin Costner wouldn't need to do any brand 'collabs', but if it means helping his new film, Horizon: An American Saga, get made, rumour has it he's willing to do just about anything.
Anything, except collaborating with any ole corporate partner, an approach he believes is criminal.
This new spot for Green Mountain coffee features Costner being shown a series of potential brand partners, all of which he dismissed as untouchable. From sneakers with spurs, to grills (not the George Foreman kind), these unusual items are chasing dreams as far as our gravelly-voiced leading man is concerned.
After 30 years without doing any commercials, Costner will only collaborate with something he actually likes, he says, taking a sip from his tin cup, "like this coffee".
Created by Havas New York and directed by Brian Billow through O Positive, the 60-second spot introduced Green Mountain's first ever partnership and Costner’s first US brand collaboration in three decades, featuring a series of new coffee blends, the first one being Horizon Blend by Kevin Costner.
