Chelsea FC teams have teamed up with Uncommon London to bring fire to the launch of Chelsea FC's new home kit.

Where a recent kit launch film from London rivals Tottenham Hotspur took a comedic approach, this film has a more knowingly stylish look that focuses on the new, vibrant blue of the shirt, which symbolises the hottest part of a flame and "the burning passion and determination of the Chelsea players and fans to succeed on and off the pitch".

The film features players from the Chelsea men's and women's first team, including Enzo Fernandez, Cole Palmer, Sam Kerr, Moises Ciacedo and Lauren James, and was directed by Thomas Van Kristen through Common People. It begins on a flickering blue flame in the distance and, as the momentum builds and the track warps, figures flurry on screen and a player pulls on the new shirt. The spot then cuts to a shot of a burning red rose – which appears on the Chelsea badge – signalling a new beginning for the club.

An accompanying outdoor campaign also features homegrown Chelsea talent, including Alfie Gilchrist, Connor Gallagher, Reece James, Levi Colwill and Aggie Beever-Jones.

“This thinking encapsulates the club and players sentiment ahead of the new season, as they bring a new energy and new fire to Stamford Bridge," said Nils Leonard, Co-Founder of Uncommon Creative Studio. "This is only just the beginning — this is about partnering with the fans, players and club to create the brand Chelsea has always deserved, to bring the iconic London club to the world.”
