Created in collaboration with Alt.vfx, Special Group and Revolver, Australian bank ANZ has unveiled its latest campaign, championing its cutting-edge fraud protection technology, Falcon.
Titled DoppelFalcons, it sees ANZ customers making purchases under the watchful eye of characterful avian avatars, spotlighting how Falcon distinguishes between real and fraudulent financial transactions.
Alt.vfx were tasked with crafting the CG birds, each with their own idiosyncrasies and styles according to their allocated on screen talent. The studio worked closely with reference footage, starting with a base model of an anatomically correct Peregrine Falcon, ensuring that the generic falcon matched the nuance of their in-camera stand-in.
“Building upon our existing in-house feather tool, our DoppelFalcons added new degrees of complexity," said VFX Supervisor Jay Hawkins. "Fortunately we started with some rock solid reference as we had a real peregrine falcon with us on set. We shot separate takes of our stand in falcon in all of our camera setups as both a lighting reference and movement study. This gave us a great benchmark to aim for as we refined our CG birds."
