Aldi's charming Cinderalla-themed spot was conceived by TBWA\Paris and directed by Sebastian Strasser through Henry and follows the story of a young prince who ends up chasing the wrong princess.
Richly evoking a world of fairytale and legend, the film Once Upon a Time - Today's Discount sees the man embark on a ludicrous quest to find a woman he’s seen out dancing. Though alluring, she seems alarmingly footloose and lax in that whole managing-to-get-through-the evening-with-both-your-trainers-on thing.
With a soundtrack that revamps the original Disney film’s Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo - The Magic Song, the ad ends with the man’s realisation that those stalwart Aldi values – simplicity, pragmatism and common sense – can apply to the search for true love, as well as to the procurement of decent groceries.
