Aldi has released the first of its Christmas spots revealing that Kevin the cute crudité is back for more festive adventures. Created by McCann UK, who have served us up the carrotty treat in 2016 and again last year, the campaign is once again directed by Todd Mueller and Kylie Matulick through Psyop. This time his adventures open with a parody of Coca-Cola’s Truck ad.
On a winter’s night Kevin is merrily driving a huge lorry bedecked in fairy lights along a snowy road when an avalanche hits, knocking his truck askew and sending him half dangling over a cliff edge. A feeble “help me” is heard and the hashtag #SaveKevin appears.
Will social media help the cuddly carrot get himself out of this pickle?
