AlmapBBDO's cute ad, directed by Claudio Borrelli through Killers, uses avian allusions to launch VW Brazil's new family-sized SUV.

Occasionally adland’s depiction of blissfully happily married people enjoying their blissfully happy family life can flip from inducing aspirational yearnings to actually making one a little bit sick in the mouth.

However, this new spot is just saved from tipping over into an over-treacly sweetness by the intervention of a jaunty, beautifully rendered CGI stork.

While the family are enjoying a day out in their roomy VW Tiguan Allspace, the bird amusingly pops up and distracts the dad’s attention – could it have a message for him? It even presents an opportunity to display the car’s impressive tech when it triggers the Pedestrian Recognition feature, which brakes automatically when it detects people or animals suddenly crossing in front of it. Thus it avoids becoming roadkill and is able to deliver its happy news that the dad's brood is to expand! Aw!
