You might not know it - in fact you probably consider yourself a pacifist - but every year, you're spending an average of $249 on war.

Publicis New York has built its latest campaign for international humanitarian organisation War Child around the shocking statistic, which divides the amount of global spending on war by the number of people on the planet, and encourages consumers to offset this by investing in peace.

The campaign film, set to Radiohead’s hit single No Surprises, uses origami dollar bills - beautifully animated by The Mill New York - to bring the story to life, with Stranger Things' Caleb McLaughlin providing the voiceover.

"War Child is one of those rare opportunities where we can use powerful creative for both powerful, and meaningful, change," says Publicis NY CCO, Andy Bird. "War is ugly. War is violent and raw, and not a place for anyone. Especially not for our children. We hope this body of work will make people look at the real cost of war, in a new and personal way. Let’s start investing in peace."
