EDEKA: Returning Home #heimkommen
A grandfather goes to great and surprising lengths to reunite his family at Christmas.
Christmas is usually about spending time with the ones you love - and typically, that means family and close friends.
But in this heartfelt and emotionally-charged spot - directed by Alex Feil - a grandfather risks spending it alone as his family make excuses for their increasingly busy lives.
Created by Jung von Matt, the spot highlights what is important this Christmas - and with enough time before the big day, it seems to serve as a warning for families to make the effort to get together.
Currently generating a lot of talk online, the spot risks giving John Lewis' Man on The Moon a run for its money.
In 2014, the agency created an equally popular spot for the supermarket, although it is slightly more absurd. Starring German musician Friedrich Liechtenstein, the Supergeil music video - which literally translates as Super Horny - is a light-hearted fusion of electro-pop, grocery-fondling delightfulness (or maybe it's just plain weird).
Either way, the creative partnership between EDEKA and Jung von Matt is definitely one to watch.
