London agency Dark Horses has created a documentary short for Gazprom which focusses on Russian football team Zenit St Petersburg.
The film is part of the documentary series, The Energy Behind the UEFA Champions League, which has been developed to support Gazprom’s UCL sponsorship. It aims to take football fans behind the scenes of the Champions League and tell stories about real characters combined with emotional images.
The episode is the third in series (though the first created by Dark Horses) and is directed by Rob Sanderson through Dark Horses' production unit, Young Dukes. The nine-minute film centres on a Champions League night and on four individuals with lifelong ties to Zenit, including UEFA Cup winner and ex-Arsenal star Andrey Arshavin and former legendary keeper and current first-team goalkeeper coach Mikhail Biryukov.
