A reminder to the good people of the USA that wearing masks is vital in the battle to contain Covid-19, this droll spot was written and directed by Grossman, a former copywriter who also performs stand-up comedy around the country.
While in 1950s TV series The Lone Ranger, the question on everyone’s lips was “who was that masked man?”, here, bemused onlookers are wondering who is the tool without a mask?
Produced by Redacted Content with cinematography from celebrated DP Lawrence Sher (Joker, The Hangover series) the film, Be A Superhero, Wear a Mask, sees Batman bemused when he’s shunned by victims he aims to help, shoo-ed away by shop owners and refused entry onto a bus.
The caped one’s humiliation is complete when a passer-by delivers the killer quip “wear a mask Bat dick!”
Riffing on the secret identity aspect of superhero mythology, the voiceover muses that "it's not who we are underneath that defines us, but what we do."
