Volkswagen has launched a new campaign starring Chelsea and USA footballer Christian Pulisic that highlights how pressure can push people to greatness.

Created by Johannes Leonardo New York and directed by Reset's Adam Hashemi, the 60-second spot opens with Pulisic about to take a penalty before we zoom back in time to him as a young boy, with expectations being heaped on his narrow shoulders. 

The spot, called Diamonds, has cameos from former US international Clint Dempsey and one of the stars of Apple TV's Ted Lasso, Brett Goldstein, and tells a shared story of overcoming pressure to create something impactful. Elite athletes are under pressure to perform, while Volkswagen feels under pressure to change the world with a mass adoption of electric. But it's how that pressure is handled that dictates whether success is achieved or not.
