It’s in keeping with the whole thrust (ahem) of this campaign that while seeking fun euphemisms with which to spice up this posting, shots encountered a parade of perky phrases around male masturbation but very few referring to females enjoying a little DIY romance.
Much can be found online about the stroking of trouser snakes, bashing the bishop and even… the rather grossly, ‘ brewing the baby gravy’... but there’s not much mention of solitary adventures in the lady garden.
Created by TBWA\Melbourne in collaboration with music agency Bring, the initiative comes off the back of a survey commissioned by the brand that revealed that while 72 per cent of Australian women find masturbation to be fun and healthy, 57 per cent admit to feeling ashamed when they masturbate.
Despite this, 60 per cent believe now is the time for self-pleasure to be normalised, and a third want more people to be talking openly about the topic.
The multi-platform campaign, titled The Solo Project, includes two new songs from The Veronicas, with Lisa Veronica’s heartfelt ballad Cruisin’ On My Own, directed by Anita Lee, through Eight, championing the importance of self-love.
