Helmed by director Rok Predin through Trunk Animation, this hypnotic promo for Indie folk band Villagers latest track, That Golden Time, is a poetic and poignant metaphor for humans' insuppressible attraction to technology, regardless of the costs.
Inspired by lead singer Conor O’Brien’s brief, and a wondrous piece of slow motion footage of a Dark Marathyssa moth, Predin drew comparisons between a moth’s attraction to light and mankind's insatiable, and potentially dangerous, hunger for technological advancements.
Through intricate studies of the Dark Marathyssa’s composition, colours and textures, Trunk brought the stunning, golden-winged creature to life in Cinema 4D, weaving a selection of striking vignettes and live-action shots into a technically-impressive and dreamily-paced narrative with a subtle yet thought-provoking message.
