Just like plants, humans seem prone to a spot of phototropism – this gorgeous film, titled Once You See It, depicts characters who seem irresistably drawn to turning their faces towards light and the anticipation of light.
Created by &Co, and directed by Mike Warzin, through Arts & Sciences, the spot builds a sense of mystery as it opens on a selection of characters looking expectantly and hopefully up at the closed ceilings of their homes.
The film captures the wonder and awe of letting some radiance through the roof with a handy Velux aperture. With fine cinematography from Laust Trier Mork, the ad is set to the song Good Enough Day, by Royal Wood, the lyrics of which include the poetic observation that even if the sun is not bright, “if we look inside our souls there’s light.” Lovely.
