This touching short film, created, directed and edited by Kalum Ko, takes the viewer on a 600km journey through the busy streets of NYC, sensitively capturing the highs and lows of its population.
What makes WIP so effective is the authentic and unpredictable nature of this type of filming. When Ko set out with the intention of catching chance encounters, he had no idea what kind of footage he would return with.
Even in the chaotic hustle and bustle of rush hour, Ko manages to record quiet and intimate moments in which New Yorkers the take the time open up to him.
The film is composed of beautifully shot, atmospheric scenes, set everywhere from parks to rooftops to trains, capturing the unique relationship between the city and its inhabitants from dawn to dusk.
